Thank you for considering me to care for your pet!Amelia Wieber grew up in a very pet friendly environment and she has always had a love for animals. As a child she was a member of 4-H Rabbit Raisers where she bred, raised, and showed prize winning rabbits and guinea pigs. Therefore, when the time came for college she decided to make her studies about animals. She earned a BA in Animal Behavior from the University of Connecticut in 2005. Since moving to California Amelia has acquired experience as a veterinarian's assistant, dog trainer, and zoo keeper. Working at an animal hospital is where she discovered her passion to work with people and their pets. Amelia has most recently worked as a child educator and animal keeper at Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary and has also worked extensively with her mentors Janine Pierce of J9's K9s Dog Training and Steve Brooks of K9U. Amelia regards every pet she works with as her own, with love and respect. All training is done with positive reinforcement using food rewards and/or praise. Amelia is always reading up on new animal training techniques that can better the bond between a dog or cat and their human. She is the proud mom of 3 entertaining cats known as Alice, Angie, and Frankie, and a very intelligent Border Collie mix named Cabernet. In her free time she likes to play drums, dance, and volunteer as an animal rehabilitator at The California Wildlife Center. Please see this page for a brief overview of services. A reference list is available upon request.
My work has brought me close to a variety of animals.
